Diesel engine fire pumps can be used to transport clean water without solid particles below 80°C or liquids with physical and chemical properties similar to water. (1) Water pump
Single-stage single-suction horizontal centrifugal pump (IS), horizontal multi-stage single-suction centrifugal pump (KQDW), horizontal single-stage split-type double-suction centrifugal pump (KQSN), comply with the national standard GB6245-2006 “Fire Pump”.
(2) Diesel engine
The driving source of this product is diesel engines from well-known brands at home and abroad. Give priority to products with high performance, high reliability, strong load capacity and low pollution emissions. This series of products usually uses diesel engines from Wuxi Power, Shanghai Internal Combustion Engine Factory, Chaochai, Weichai, Jichai, Chongqing Cummins, Dongfeng Cummins, VOLVO, MAN, IVECO and other companies, with speeds of 1000r/min, 1500r/min, 1800r/min and 3000r/min.
The diesel engines supporting all XBC diesel engine fire pumps of our company are all water-cooled. Fan water tank cooling and heat exchanger cooling refer to the difference in secondary cooling methods. The hot water generated when the diesel engine is working flows from the outlet pipe of the diesel engine to the heat exchanger. The cold water in the cooling pipe of the heat exchanger cools the circulating hot water of the diesel engine. After the circulating hot water of the diesel engine is cooled, it returns to the diesel engine and performs maintenance on the diesel engine. cool down.
The cold water in the cooling tube of the heat exchanger increases in temperature after cooling the circulating hot water of the diesel engine, and is pumped to the cooling tower for cooling. After cooling, it is sent to the cooling tube of the heat exchanger.
(3) Connection device
The diesel engine and water pump of this product are generally directly connected using an elastic sleeve pin coupling, so it has the characteristics of easy installation, low cost, small size, reliability and safety. If the speed of the diesel engine does not match the pump speed or a long-axis pump is used, a reducer or angle gearbox coupling is required.
(4) Control cabinet
The equipment is equipped with the KQK900 series control cabinet developed and produced by Kaiquan Company. The KQK900 series diesel engine fire pump control cabinet is developed, designed and produced by the Water Supply Equipment Division of Shanghai Kaiquan Pump Industry Group. It is a control system supporting water supply equipment for fully automatic diesel engine fire protection, production, and living. This series of products is fully functional, reliable and easy to use, sturdy and beautiful.
(5) Battery
The equipment is equipped with maintenance-free batteries with specifications of 12V/200Ah. Depending on the capacity of the machine’s starting motor and starting requirements, different numbers of batteries can be equipped. In order to meet the individual needs of customers, other brands and models of battery products can also be selected according to special specifications of customers.
(6) Fuel tank
According to the requirements of equipment power, fuel consumption and operating time, fuel tanks of various volumes can be selected. Fire emergency products are usually selected based on 6 hours. Our company provides fuel tank products of various specifications from 50L to 2000L.
※Supporting control system
KQK900 series diesel engine fire pump control cabinet is a fully automatic diesel engine pump unit electronic measurement and control system controlled by a programmable controller (PLC) or single-chip microcomputer. The control panel and the diesel engine pump set together form a highly automated fire pump set centralized control system, which is reliable in operation, high in measurement accuracy, and easy to operate. It can be widely used in various enterprises and institutions as emergency diesel engine pump system control (system) for fire protection, production, life, etc.
The KQK900 series diesel engine fire pump control cabinet can be equipped with various specifications and models of diesel engines. According to the different core controllers and other special requirements, it can be divided into three levels: economical type, standard type and special type. Economical type: Use a special controller developed by a single-chip microcomputer to realize measurement and control, parameter display and setting. Standard type: PLC is used to realize the measurement and control function, and a text display is used as the human-machine interface. Special type: Based on the standard type, it is replaced with touch screen, computer and other human-machine interfaces, as well as other special configurations.
When the water pump unit receives a valid operation command, or the electric pump power supply system is powered off, or receives a remote control starting signal, the unit can automatically start running. If one attempt to start is unsuccessful, the unit will automatically restart several times.
The control cabinet has the following alarm functions: start failure alarm; low oil pressure alarm; high oil temperature alarm; high cooling water temperature alarm; overspeed alarm; battery low voltage alarm; fuel shortage indication alarm. It has protection functions such as low oil pressure shutdown, overspeed shutdown, and emergency shutdown.
The control system provides a remote start-stop control interface and provides passive status feedback contacts such as “running status”, “starting failure”, “comprehensive alarm”, “control power on”, etc.

※Fuel tank
Usually XBC equipment needs to be equipped with an independent fuel tank. Only a few small-power diesel engines are equipped with small-capacity fuel tanks. For example, the x95 series of Shanghai Jiading Internal Combustion Engine Factory is equipped with a 20L fuel tank. The volume of the fuel tank is usually calculated based on the fuel consumption of the equipment for 4-6 hours of operation. The calculation formula is as follows:

※Battery
The equipment is equipped with maintenance-free batteries, which usually require 800A cold starting performance. Generally, two 12V, 200AH batteries are used in series for power supply. The series connection of batteries increases the voltage, but the capacity remains unchanged. The parallel connection of batteries increases the capacity, but the voltage remains unchanged. For high-power diesel engines, because their starter motors are powerful and even equipped with two starter motors, a larger-capacity battery pack is required for power supply. Generally, four batteries are used, two in series and two in parallel. When using a dual-battery starting circuit, in addition to doubling the number of batteries, the control cabinet must also be equipped with a two-way mains charging system and automatic switching of the two-way battery packs.
- The normal scope of supply includes: pump set, fuel tank, battery, and control cabinet;
- Diesel engine random spare parts;
- Exhaust bellows and muffler;
- The connecting cable bundle between the control cabinet and the terminal box next to the machine (5 meters in length);
- Oil supply and return pipe (10 meters rubber pipe).
Note: In addition to the bellows and muffler, other pipes, elbows, reducers, antifreeze and engine oil in the exhaust system are not included in the scope of supply.
※Hoisting requirements:
When hoisting the diesel engine water pump unit, it must be lifted and moved horizontally as a whole. It is strictly prohibited to lift or drag the water pump unit at an angle.
※Installation requirements:
- When installing a water pump unit, a thin iron sheet must be added between the metal common chassis of the unit and the foundation plane to level the foundation and the common chassis;
- The coaxiality should be adjusted when the equipment is installed on site. The parallelism error should not be greater than 0.2mm, and the radial circular runout error should not be greater than 0.3mm;
- For units with open circulation cooling, soft connections such as rubber hoses must be used to transition between the diesel engine and the water inlet pipe. It is strictly prohibited to use steel pipes to directly connect rigidly with the diesel engine;
- The control cabinet is required to be placed nearby so that the pump set can be seen when operating the control cabinet. The total extension length of the cable bundle connecting it to the terminal box next to the machine shall not exceed 5 meters;
- When installing the fuel tank, it is advisable that the oil outlet is slightly higher than the oil inlet of the diesel engine;
- Place the battery nearby the starter motor;
※Requirements:
Please read the information that comes with the water pump unit carefully, and use the machine strictly in accordance with the operating specifications stipulated in the “Diesel Engine Operation and Maintenance Manual”, “Diesel Engine Control Cabinet Operation Manual” and other materials to avoid damage to the machine caused by human operating factors.
Please pay attention to the following points during equipment debugging and daily operation:
- Selection of diesel, engine oil and coolant
- Diesel: No. 0 or -10 diesel, selected according to the ambient temperature.
- Engine oil: CF-4 grade or above 15W/40. Mixing of different brands of engine oil is not allowed.
- Coolant: Tap water and clean river water should be used to cool the diesel engine. Well water contains many impurities and is prone to scale, so it should not be used. You can also choose the corresponding antifreeze according to the recommendations in the diesel engine maintenance manual.
- Preparation before starting the diesel engine pump
- Check whether all parts of the diesel engine are normal and whether the connections of all accessories are reliable;
- Check whether the coolant is filled;
- Check whether the engine oil level is at the specified oil level;
- Check whether there is enough diesel in the fuel tank;
- Check whether the circuit connectors of the starting system are tight;
- Check whether the battery power is sufficient;
- Fully open the water inlet valve of the pump;
- Completely exhaust the air in the pump chamber;
- Precautions for pump unit operation
- The pump unit must not be overloaded during operation. Pay attention to the inlet and outlet pressure gauges of the water pump. The actual head after the outlet pressure minus the inlet pressure must be greater than or equal to the rated head marked on the pump nameplate. When the actual head is lower than the rated head of the pump, the water pump is in an over-flow working state, and the diesel engine is running at over-power.
- The ambient temperature in which the pump unit operates must be appropriate. When the ambient temperature is higher than the design temperature, power reduction should be considered.
- Routine maintenance of diesel engine
- Check the oil level in the oil pan. The oil level should reach the scale mark on the oil dipstick. If it is insufficient, add to the specified amount.
- Remove oil, water and air leaks from diesel engines.
- Check the installation status of various accessories of the diesel engine, including the firmness of the installation of each accessory, anchor bolts, etc.
- Check each instrument and observe whether the reading is normal. Otherwise, it should be repaired or replaced in time.
- Clean the surface of the diesel engine and ancillary equipment. Use a dry cloth or a rag soaked in diesel to wipe off oil stains, water and dust on the surface of the fuselage, turbocharger, cylinder head cover, air filter and other surfaces. Wipe or use compressed air to blow away the dust on the surface of the charging generator, radiator, intercooler, fan, etc.
- Start and run once a week for about half an hour, or until the water temperature and oil temperature reach above 60 degrees.
※Basic technical requirements:
The foundation of the pump should have sufficient rigidity to support the pump and absorb vibrations. The use of a concrete platform higher than the ground can prevent flooding of the unit and keep the site clean. The unit is fixed with anchor bolts, the length of which is 15 times the bolt diameter. In order to better position the unit, the reserved holes for the anchor bolts should be more than 4 times larger than the diameter of the anchor bolts, and secondary grouting should be used. Each side of the foundation table should exceed the base of the unit by about 300mm, and a sump should be provided on the side of the foundation to collect oil and water dripping from the diesel engine.
