Save 30% of electricity! Qingdao Jimo Huangjiashan Water Plant Green Upgrade
In today’s era of energy shortage and environmental protection, energy conservation and emission reduction have become an inevitable choice for social progress.
In the field of water plant pump stations, how to reduce energy consumption and improve operating efficiency is an urgent and important task. As one of the industry leaders in the field of domestic hydraulic transportation, Kaiquan has made great achievements in the energy-saving transformation project of Huangjiashan Water Plant in Jimo District with its innovative “Smart Smart Flow” high-efficiency and energy-saving double-suction pump, and has achieved remarkable energy-saving results.
Project Background
Huangjiashan Water Plant is an important hub for water supply in the eastern part of Jimo City. However, with the development of the city and the growth of water supply demand, the energy consumption problem of water plant pump stations has become increasingly prominent.
In order to actively respond to the national call for energy conservation and emission reduction and gradually eliminate outdated high-energy-consuming equipment, Huangjiashan Water Plant invited Kaiquan engineers and technicians to implement systematic diagnosis of its pump station system operating parameters and embarked on this journey of energy-saving transformation.
Solution
After a comprehensive on-site audit of the water plant equipment system by the Kaiquan expert team, the following problems were found:
1. The rated head of the original high-pressure water pump was too high and the water pump deviated from the rated point and high-efficiency point;
2. Through the collection of actual operation data, it was further found that the original high-pressure water pump had low operating efficiency and a serious problem of energy waste.

To this end, Kaiquan combined the hydraulic characteristics of the system and the problems existing on site, and replaced the old pump with Kaiquan’s “Smart Flow” high-efficiency and energy-saving double-suction pump according to the system’s optimal operating parameters to improve the pump’s operating efficiency and reduce ineffective energy consumption. This pump breaks through the two key technical bottlenecks of wide efficiency and low cavitation, and has the following advantages:
1. High design efficiency and wide high-efficiency zone
The design and efficiency of high-efficiency pumps are higher than those of traditional ordinary water pumps, and the high-efficiency zone is 12%-20% wider than that of ordinary water pumps; in this way, even if the water usage changes and the water pump deviates from the design point within a certain range, the high-efficiency pump can ensure that it operates in the high-efficiency zone.
2. Technological breakthrough, low cavitation
The cavitation performance of high-efficiency pumps is better than that of ordinary water pumps, and cavitation will not occur even if the water pump runs at a large flow rate.
The commissioning of this water pump has significantly improved the operating efficiency of the water plant pump station and greatly reduced ineffective energy consumption. After comparing the operating data before and after, the power saving rate of the system after the transformation is as high as
30.13%, and the daily power saving is 2712 kWh. At the same time, the investment payback period is only 6 months.
Project summary
During the cooperation between Kaiquan and Jimo District Water Supply Company, the two sides communicated closely and cooperated well. Whether it was the early business cooperation, technical communication or later installation and commissioning, everything went very smoothly.
This high degree of tacit understanding and cooperation laid a solid foundation for the successful implementation of the project.
Looking to the future
Kaiquan will continue to focus on energy conservation and consumption reduction, deepen water plant transformation services, use cutting-edge technologies and products to promote the high-quality development of the water supply industry, and maximize customer benefits.
