In Zhongning County, Ningxia, Ningxia Tianyuan Cogeneration Cogeneration Co., Ltd.’s 2×350MW supercritical coal-fired indirect air-cooled cogeneration self-owned power plant has a designed annual utilization of up to 7,500 hours—meaning it operates at high load for most of the year, leaving virtually no window for the equipment to rest. For the core auxiliary equipment, this represents an extreme test of reliability, stability, and long-term service capability.
The full-capacity boiler feedwater system supplied by Kaiquan has been operating stably for over six years since its commissioning in 2019, achieving long-term synchronous operation with the main units.
High Speed, High Head, Medium-High Temperature: A Triple Test

The operating parameters of the water supply system in this project are extremely demanding:
– Rated Flow Rate: 1280 m³/h
– Design Head: 3280 m
– Medium Temperature: 178℃
– Rated Speed: 5626 r/min
High speed, high head, and medium-high temperature media, coupled with continuous full-load operation year-round, place extremely high demands on the structural strength, material temperature and pressure resistance, shaft stability, and overall operational safety of the water pump. Conventional water pumps are prone to excessive vibration, seal failure, and core wear under these conditions.
Solution: Double-Casing Pressure Bearing, Steam-Driven Energy Saving

The Kaiquan technical team conducted in-depth on-site research and tailored a complete solution to address the project challenges:
✅Structural Selection: The main boiler feedwater pump adopts a double-casing segmental core structure. The separate design of the inner and outer cylinders provides strong pressure bearing capacity, minimal thermal deformation, and suitability for high-pressure and high-temperature water supply conditions. Compared to traditional single-casing pumps, the double-casing structure offers superior fatigue resistance under extreme operating conditions. Furthermore, the integrated core-pulling structure eliminates the need for pipeline disassembly during maintenance, significantly reducing maintenance time.
✅System Configuration: Utilizing a classic, high-efficiency drive combination of a pre-pump + gearbox + turbine + steam-driven main feedwater pump, the system ensures smooth power transmission and precise energy efficiency matching to the unit’s operational needs.
✅Safety Features: Equipped with a complete set of intelligent monitoring instruments, including a minimum flow protection valve, inlet precision filter, and monitoring of temperature, pressure, vibration, and bearing status, creating a comprehensive operational early warning system. Real-time alarms for equipment anomalies ensure continuous and stable system operation.
Operating Results: No major downtime in 6 years
Since commissioning in 2019, the two complete steam-driven boiler feedwater pump units have operated stably for over 50,000 hours. Under long-term full-load and high-duration operating conditions, key performance indicators have consistently remained within design limits.
Since its operation began, there has been no record of major malfunctions or shutdowns, fully meeting the continuous and reliable water supply requirements for the boiler’s full capacity. This provides solid core auxiliary equipment support for the safe, efficient, economical, and long-term power generation and heating of the main unit.
Kaiquan, with its high-end feedwater pump technology, safeguards the safe and efficient operation of every thermal power unit.
