Kaiquan horizontal single-stage double-suction split-center centrifugal pump connects three rivers to promote development

Recently, Kaiquan stood out from many strong competitors and successfully won the bid for the follow-up optimization project of the Hanjiang, Rongjiang and Lianjiang water system connection-Xiajiashan pump station water pump and its ancillary equipment procurement project.
This project is a major livelihood water conservancy project planned and constructed by the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government from a high level of overall planning. It is also an important part of the Guangdong Provincial “five vertical and five horizontal” water resources allocation backbone network.
It is of great significance to solve the resource and engineering water shortage problems in eastern Guangdong and support the high-quality economic and social development in eastern Guangdong.
Project background
The project includes three parts: the main closed pipeline from Guxiang water diversion to Guanbu water intake, Chaoyang branch line, Puning and Chaonan branch lines.
The construction content mainly includes a water transmission line with a total length of about 71.652km and one pump station.
Among them, Xiajiashan Pump Station is located in Kuiling Village, Xiajiashan Town, Puning City, Jieyang City.
The Hanjiang River water flows by gravity through the Luhu Tunnel and closed pipeline to the front pool of Guanbu Pump Station, and is transported to the Beishan overflow pool of Puning City after being pressurized and lifted by the Guanbu pump group, and then flows by gravity through the newly built steel pipe to the front pool of Xiajiashan Pump Station, and is transported to Tangkeng Reservoir and Qiufeng Reservoir after being lifted by Xiajiashan Pump Station.
Difficulties of the project

During the early communication phase, the Kaiquan technical team learned from the owner and the design institute that the pump of this project needs to operate in the head range of 18-23 meters with a single pump in the next 5-6 years, and needs to take into account long-term needs.
The difficulty lies in: a water pump needs to cover 18 parameter points, the head span is large, and extremely high standards are set for rated point efficiency, weighted average efficiency, cavitation performance and noise control.
Solution
Faced with the challenge, the Kaiquan technical team quickly established a special technical support department with its deep technical background in nuclear power water pump research and development and practical experience in related projects, and worked closely with the owner and the design institute to jointly explore the best solution for the project.
After numerous discussions and experiments, the team innovatively proposed the technical concept of small impellers and large impellers working together, and tailored 4 sets of horizontal single-stage double-suction split centrifugal pumps (3 for use and 1 for standby) and matching variable frequency speed regulation horizontal asynchronous motors and variable frequency speed regulation devices for the project.
In addition, Kaiquan will also introduce an advanced online monitoring system, which deeply integrates the Internet of Things and big data analysis technology, can realize real-time monitoring and intelligent analysis of the operating status of the water pump, and provide strong technical support for the operation and maintenance management of the project.
According to statistics, the annual electricity bill savings of the entire project plan can reach 1.1 million yuan, achieving both economic and social benefits.
Digging mountains to divert water benefits people’s livelihood, and connecting three rivers to promote development.
The completion of the subsequent optimization project of the connection of the Hanjiang, Rongjiang and Lianjiang water systems will increase the average annual water supply of more than 8.5 million people in eastern Guangdong by 311 million cubic meters, forming a water supply guarantee system with abundant and scarce adjustment, multiple water sources complementarity, and sustainable utilization.
This winning bid is not only the market’s full recognition of Kaiquan’s technical strength, innovation ability and brand reputation, but also another strong proof that Kaiquan continues to contribute to the country’s optimal allocation of water resources and sustainable economic and social development.
In the future, Kaiquan will continue to make efforts and work with partners from all walks of life to draw a new chapter in water conservancy.
