The product prototype appraisal meeting of “Hualong One Nuclear Secondary Low-pressure Injection Pump (LHSIR520/170)” organized by China General Machinery Industry Association was successfully concluded in Shanghai.
The product of this appraisal meeting was developed by Shanghai Kaiquan Pump Industry (Group) Co., Ltd., and Huang Li, President of China General Machinery Industry Association, presided over the meeting.
Sui Yongbin, former chief engineer of the China Machinery Industry Federation, serves as the leader of the expert group of the appraisal committee. The expert group is composed of experts from the China Machinery Industry Federation, China Agricultural University, CGN Operation Company, CGN Engineering Company, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research Institute, CGN Engineering Design Institute, China Nuclear Power Engineering Company, CGN Research Institute, Jiangsu Nuclear Power and other units.

Experts and representatives of the appraisal committee conducted in-depth inspections at the production test site, witnessed some performance tests of the prototype, listened to the technical summary report of the research and development unit, and reviewed relevant documents and materials.
About the “Hualong One Nuclear Secondary Low-pressure Injection Pump” product prototype
The main innovations and technical features of the “Hualong One Nuclear Secondary Low-pressure Injection Pump” product prototype are:
Developed a high-efficiency hydraulic model, designed a first-stage double-suction impeller and a secondary single-suction impeller combination structure, good cavitation performance, wide high-efficiency zone, steep drop in flow-head curve, and no shaft power overload.
The pump body and rotor structure have good rigidity, and the axial force balance mechanism is reasonably designed to meet the requirements of multiple working conditions and frequent startup.
The cooling box body at the front end of the machine seal cavity is designed as an integral structure, which improves the reliability of the pressure boundary seal.
Adopting an integral core-pulling structure, a special disassembly and assembly tool is designed to facilitate on-site maintenance.

After rigorous review, the appraisal committee unanimously agreed that the low-pressure injection pump (LHSIR520/170) product prototype has independent intellectual property rights, and its main performance indicators have reached the advanced level of similar international products, and it is recommended for promotion and application.
