Case Highlights
Haikou City is low-lying, with concentrated rainy seasons and an average annual rainfall exceeding 1,800 mm. Coupled with the aging drainage system in the old city, areas such as Yilong Road and Wanguo West Road have long suffered from severe waterlogging, severely impacting residents’ lives and urban transportation.
In 2023, the Hainan Provincial Government designated “urban waterlogging control” as a key livelihood project, and this project has become a key component of Haikou’s urban renewal plan during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
Kaiquan provided integrated pump and gate equipment for the Yilong East Pump Station and submersible axial flow pumps for the Yilong Road and Wanguo West Road waterlogging point renovation projects in Haikou.
During the project’s early design phase, Kaiquan maintained close communication with the design institute and the client, providing a comprehensive technical solution.
Multiple on-site surveys and calculations were conducted to optimize the design and equipment selection based on the project’s specific characteristics. After winning the bid, the factory meticulously deployed production and maintained strict quality control to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. After the equipment arrived on-site, Kaiquan dispatched professional technicians to guide the installation under high temperatures, completing commissioning in early September of the 24th year.
Successfully withstood heavy rain and received a letter of appreciation
On September 6 of the same year, Super Typhoon Makar, exceeding force 17, made landfall in Haikou, bringing record-breaking downpours to the Yilong area.
During this critical moment, Kaiquan Haikou’s service and technical staff remained on the front lines, fully committed to ensuring the normal operation of the equipment. Ultimately, no water accumulated on the road, traffic flowed smoothly, and the Yilong area successfully broke the record of flooding during every typhoon and heavy rain.
The high reliability, rapid drainage capabilities, and excellent service of Kaiquan’s integrated pump and gate products earned high praise from customers, who sent letters of commendation.
