Luanzhou Ancient City, with its flat terrain and proximity to the Luan River, is extremely vulnerable to flooding during flood season. During periods of severe weather, such as heavy rainfall, river levels rise rapidly, placing significant strain on the city’s drainage system and significantly increasing the risk of flooding. In this dire situation, strengthening flood control and drainage infrastructure is imperative. This is where the Tangshan Luanzhou Ancient City Integrated Pump and Sluice Project comes in.

Case Highlights
The Tangshan Luanzhou Ancient City Integrated Pump-Sluice Project utilizes a unique layout of single gate and single pump, with five gate pumps installed side by side. The gate pumps are 1400mm submersible axial-flow pumps, each with a flow rate of 6.8m³/s and a power output of 710kW. This powerful configuration places it at the forefront of similar products in China.

From the initial project planning and selection, to the detailed development of construction drawings, to the successful completion of construction, Kaiquan provides comprehensive, one-stop, high-quality services.
In the production process, Kaiquan strictly controls quality and carefully selects high-quality steel. Advanced processes such as CNC machining and robotic welding are employed to ensure product precision and stability. During the assembly process, meticulous attention is paid to every detail. Comprehensive and detailed testing is conducted before shipment, establishing the Kaiquan brand with a zero-defect standard.

With these configurations and services, the pump gate has a designed total flow rate of 34 m³/s, significantly raising the region’s flood control standard from a 10-year flood event to a 10-year event. This project has become the largest integrated pump gate project in the North District, setting a new benchmark for regional flood control.
Successful implementation of the integrated pump and gate project
The successful implementation of the integrated pump gate project in Luanzhou Ancient City, Tangshan, has effectively reduced the frequency of urban flooding and provided a solid “protection umbrella” for the safety of life and property of surrounding residents.
This project not only fully demonstrates Kaiquan’s strong capabilities in the design, manufacturing, and integration of large-scale pump gates, but also achieves internationally leading technical standards, offering high demonstration and promotional value. It has set a benchmark for urban flood control and drainage.
Going forward, Kaiquan will continue to lead the industry’s development and provide reliable reference for more regions to address flood challenges.
