The joint research project by Kaiquan won the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award

Recently, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology officially announced the winners of the 2024 Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Awards.

The project “Key Technologies and Applications of High-Power High-Temperature Double-Suction Pump Devices,” jointly completed by Shanghai Kaiquan Pump Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. as the core completing unit and other institutions including China Jiliang University, won the third prize of the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.

This project relied on the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Zhejiang Provincial Public Welfare Technology Research Program. It addressed key bottlenecks in the hydraulic design, thermal setting of safety valves, and operational status sensing of high-power high-temperature double-suction pump devices. It developed a new hydraulic model and design method centered on wide-range, high-efficiency, multi-objective intelligent hydraulic optimization, systematically overcoming key common technical challenges in the advanced manufacturing and safe, efficient operation of high-temperature double-suction pump devices.

Technology Application

Currently, the technological achievements have been successfully transformed into more than 20 specifications of a series of high-temperature double-suction pump products, precisely adapting to the stringent requirements of heating systems for high temperature, high flow rate, and high reliability. Through practical application comparisons, the product’s key performance indicators have shown outstanding performance: compared with similar products from well-known domestic and international companies, the lifespan of vulnerable parts such as wear rings and shaft seals has been increased by more than 100%, maintenance costs have been reduced by 15%, and pump operating efficiency has increased by 3% to 4%, resulting in significant social, economic, and environmental benefits.

The implementation of this achievement further strengthens Kaiquan’s competitive advantage in the heating sector and provides solid technical support for the company to expand its market and undertake key projects.
