The standard “Intelligent Distribution Pump Set for Air Conditioning Water System”, edited by Kaiquan, has been officially released

On January 10th, the industry standard “Intelligent Distribution Pump Sets for Air Conditioning Water Systems,” jointly edited by Kaiquan and the China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association, and with in-depth participation from several top design institutes including China Northeast Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., Tianjin University Architectural Design & Planning Research Institute Co., Ltd., Shanghai Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., Nanjing Yangtze River Urban Architectural Design Co., Ltd., China Northwest Architectural Research Institute Co., Ltd., Hefei General Machinery & Electrical Products Testing Institute, and Yantai Vocational College, was officially released and will be fully implemented nationwide on January 20th.

The release of this standard fills a regulatory gap in the field of intelligent distribution pump sets for air conditioning water systems, marking a new stage of standardized development for my country’s refrigeration and air conditioning industry in the areas of high efficiency, energy saving, and intelligent control.

Supporting High-Quality Development of the Industry

As a core participant in technological innovation within the industry, Kaiquan, leveraging its years of experience in pump products and engineering practice, collaborated with the China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association and other key industry players. Since initiating the standard project in early 2025, the standard underwent rigorous processes including standard initiation meetings, expert project approval, multiple rounds of technical review, online opinion solicitation, and authoritative expert evaluation, ultimately resulting in a scientifically advanced and highly operable standard. Notably, the review of this standard was personally led by Luo Jijie, a national engineering design master. Master Luo, drawing upon decades of research experience in the HVAC field and a rigorous academic approach, provided comprehensive guidance on the standard’s technical details, practicality, and industry applicability, ensuring its authority and forward-looking nature.

During the drafting process, participating design institutes fully leveraged their extensive experience in architectural engineering design, offering numerous constructive suggestions based on real-world application scenarios. This ensured the standard was both technologically advanced and aligned with practical engineering needs.

Intelligent Distribution Pump Sets for Air Conditioning Water Systems

The standard focuses on two core application scenarios in air conditioning water systems: cooling circulation and chilled water circulation. Addressing the industry challenge of low efficiency in traditional single-pump operation under varying conditions, it constructs a comprehensive technical specification system.

Its core advantages lie in four major technological breakthroughs:

First, it innovatively adopts an intelligent pump unit operation mode, breaking through the limitations of traditional single pumps and achieving high-efficiency operation throughout the 15%~120% load range, significantly improving adaptability to changing operating conditions;

Second, it explicitly requires the configuration of high-efficiency water pumps and permanent magnet motors, laying a solid foundation for energy conservation from the core component level, aligning with the national “dual-carbon” strategy requirements, and helping building air conditioning systems achieve significant energy consumption reductions;

Third, it adopts a low-resistance design, using low-resistance check valves and low-resistance filters to reduce system resistance and ensure efficient equipment operation;

Fourth, it standardizes precision machining and dynamic balancing technology standards, achieving significant reduction in pump unit operating noise through refined manufacturing processes in machining centers, balancing energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.

Building a Shared Industrial Ecosystem

The release and implementation of the standard will provide a unified technical basis for the design, production, and application of intelligent distribution pump units for air conditioning water systems, effectively solving problems such as inconsistent product performance and low system operating efficiency in the industry, and promoting the transformation of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry towards green, low-carbon, intelligent, and efficient directions.

A representative from Kaiquan stated that, as the lead drafting unit for the standard, they will continue to focus on core technology research and development, strictly implement the standard requirements, and work with participating units to actively promote the implementation and dissemination of the standard. They will also popularize the standard concept through various means such as technical exchanges and case demonstrations, and work with industry partners to build a standardized and intelligent industrial ecosystem, injecting lasting momentum into building energy conservation and green development.
