Recent temperatures have plummeted, a cold wave has swept across the country, and heavy snow has fallen in many areas. Water pumps are prone to freezing and even cracking in low temperatures. Therefore, we kindly remind all new and existing customers to take precautions against freezing and ensure proper insulation for all types of water pumps.
01. Draining Before and After Installation for Freezing Prevention
If the water pump has not yet been installed or has been installed but not yet tested with water, and the ambient temperature is low, please check the pump body for any residual water. If any is found, please drain it to prevent freezing inside the pump body (as all pumps are tested before leaving the factory, there may be a small amount of residual water).
02. Insulation and Drainage for Double Protection
For outdoor use or indoor water pumps without heating, please take measures to insulate the pump (such as adding insulation layers, electric heat tracing, applying antifreeze paint, etc.) to prevent the pump from freezing due to low temperatures. When stopping a water pump that is not in use, be sure to drain any residual water inside the pump to ensure there is no water inside and to prevent the pump body from freezing and cracking.
03. Slow Melting After Freezing, Forced Start is Strictly Prohibited
Before starting the water pump, please check it. If the pump is found to be frozen, do not force it to start. Use room temperature water to gradually melt the ice inside the pump body, or heat the pump casing. Do not heat the pump rapidly, as this could cause the pump body to crack due to a sudden temperature change. Once the ice has melted, the pump can be used normally.
