Winter Pump Protection Guide

Dear Kaiquan Customers:

Hello! Thank you very much for your trust and support for Kaiquan products.

The temperature dropped sharply, the cold wave hit, and heavy snow fell in many places. Under such low temperature conditions, water pump equipment is prone to freezing or even cracking. Here, Kaiquan kindly reminds all new and old customers to take antifreeze and insulation measures for various water pumps:

Prevent ice from forming inside the pump body

If the pump has not been installed or has been installed but has not been tested with water, please check if there is any residual water in the pump body when the ambient temperature is low.

If there is any residual water, please drain it to prevent ice from forming inside the pump body (since the pump is tested before leaving the factory, there may be a little residual water).

Take good measures to insulate the water pump

For outdoor use or indoor water pumps without heating, please take good measures to insulate the water pump (such as adding insulation layer, electric heating, applying antifreeze paint, etc.) to prevent the water pump from freezing due to low temperature.
When the water pump is stopped and not turned on, please be sure to drain the residual water in the pump to ensure that there is no water in the pump to avoid freezing and cracking of the water pump body.

How to deal with frozen water pumps

Please check the water pump before starting it. If the water pump is frozen, do not force it to start or start it.
Please use normal temperature water to gradually melt the ice in the pump body, or heat the water pump shell. Do not heat it up quickly during heating to avoid the pump body from bursting due to rapid temperature changes.
After the ice melts, the water pump can be used normally.

Examples of frozen cracks in some water pumps

In order to avoid unnecessary trouble and loss to you and ensure the normal operation of the water pump, please be sure to do a good job of antifreeze and heat preservation of the equipment. I hope the above suggestions are helpful to you. Thank you for your support!
