From March 18 to 19, 2025, the Joint Meeting of Secretaries-General of Water Supply and Drainage Associations of nine provinces and two cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt was successfully held in Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province.
The meeting was hosted by the Water Industry Branch of Jiangxi Urban Construction Management Association, the Water Supply Branch of Hunan Urban and Rural Construction Industry Association, and the Drainage Branch of Hunan Urban and Rural Construction Industry Association, and undertaken by Shanghai Kaiquan Pump Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. The secretaries-general and representatives of the water supply and drainage associations of nine provinces and two cities along the Yangtze River Economic Belt attended the meeting.

One of the important topics of this meeting is to prepare for the 2025 Yangtze River Economic Belt Urban Water Supply and Drainage Cooperation and Development Forum for Nine Provinces and Two Cities.

The 2025 forum will continue to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on promoting the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, adhering to the concepts of “jointly protecting the environment and not engaging in large-scale development” and “ecological priority and green development”, and conduct in-depth discussions on core issues such as drinking water safety, smart water affairs, and sewage treatment, and form a number of industry consensuses.
The 2025 forum will continue to focus on technological innovation and green development, and promote cross-regional cooperation and industrial upgrading. At the same time, the forum will also invite industry experts, scholars and corporate representatives to participate together to provide cooperation opportunities for the development of urban water supply and drainage along the river.

Participants unanimously agreed that the Yangtze River Economic Belt is an important engine for my country’s economic development and an important region for the construction of ecological civilization. The coordinated development of urban water supply and drainage is of great significance to ensuring regional water resource security and promoting sustainable economic and social development. The secretaries-general of various water supply and drainage associations actively put forward many constructive opinions and suggestions. Everyone said that they would make full use of the joint meeting platform to strengthen information sharing, experience exchange and technical cooperation, and jointly promote the innovative development of the urban water supply and drainage industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
In addition, the meeting also reached a broad consensus on strengthening regional cooperation in the water supply and drainage industry in cities along the river, promoting technological innovation, and improving service quality. Participants said that they would take this meeting as an opportunity to further strengthen communication and cooperation. Jointly promote the coordinated development of urban water supply and drainage in the Yangtze River Economic Belt. In the experience exchange session of the association, Qian Minzhu, chief engineer of Shanghai Kaiquan Pump Industry (Group) Co., Ltd., shared the theme of “high-quality urban water transmission and distribution model”.
