The Kaiquan integrated pumping station has been installed at Songjiang South Station, marking a new chapter in the integration of water conservancy projects

Recently, Shanghai’s first integrated pump and gate project was successfully commissioned and put into operation in the Songjiang South Station large residential community in Songjiang District. This project, stretching from Dongjing Port in the west to Songwei North Road in the east, includes the construction of a new integrated pump and gate at Gaojiashe West and the opening of a 361-meter-long channel in the Gaojiashe River. It aims to improve the water conservancy infrastructure system of the Sanchangwei area and significantly enhance the region’s flood control and drainage capabilities.

This marks a significant milestone in Shanghai’s water conservancy projects, moving from the traditional separate construction of pumps and gates to integration, intelligence, and intensive management. It also represents the first successful application of Kaiquan’s integrated pump and gate products in a core area of ​​a megacity.

Innovative Breakthrough: Pump and Gate Integration, “Unleashing” the City’s Resources

In traditional water conservancy projects, pump stations and gate stations are separate, resulting in large land areas, long construction periods, numerous equipment interfaces, and complex operation and maintenance. In Shanghai, where land is extremely valuable, especially in densely populated built-up areas and large residential communities, space and construction time are rigid constraints.

The innovation of Kaiquan’s integrated pump gate lies in combining the pump station and gate station into one:

This design is not a simple functional addition, but a holistic optimization starting from the ground up. All components of the integrated pump gate—including the gate pump, gate, opening and closing system, and control system—are designed as an integrated device, both holistically and locally.

The Kaiquan team used structural mechanics software CAE and computer fluid dynamics simulation software CFD for structural and flow optimization design and verification. Based on this, and through continuous testing and iteration in hundreds of projects, the product’s reliability is ensured to withstand various complex working conditions.

Intelligent Core: Cloud Platform Empowerment Enables Pumping Stations to “Think”

If the integrated pumping station represents an innovation in “form,” then Kaiquan’s independently developed control system is the injection of “soul.”

The Gaojiashe West integrated pumping station is equipped with Kaiquan’s dedicated control system, which can monitor pump operation in real time, collect and record operational data, and upload it to the central control intelligent cloud platform. More importantly, it enables real-time monitoring and alarms via mobile phone SMS through the internet—regardless of the location of management personnel, the pumping station’s operational status is always under control.

Intelligent Switching of Operation Modes:

Gravity Drainage Mode: When the inland river water level rises to the warning level and the outer river water level is lower than the warning level, the system automatically opens the gates, allowing the inland river water to flow into the outer river by gravity.

Forced Drainage Mode: When the inland river water level rises to the warning level and the outer river water level is higher than the inland river water level, the system automatically starts the gate pumps for forced drainage until the water level drops to a safe level, at which point the pumps are shut off.

This closed loop of “perception-decision-execution” transforms the pump gate from a passive response to an active scheduling mechanism, equipping urban flood control and drainage with a smart brain.
